Who Are We?

The Heating & Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC) is a member organisation committed to supporting and promoting the sustained growth of the UK domestic heating and hot water industry.

What do we do?

  • HHIC keeps members informed on all matters relevant to the market. The quality and breadth of information that we provide to a range of audiences is at the heart of our work.
  • We represent members’ views at Government level in order to ensure the interests of the industry are heard.
  • We provide an in depth and detailed statistics service which monitors sales trends for Boilers, Fires, Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps and Spares.
  • We run a consumer website, www.centralheating.co.uk, to provide advice and information about the heating industry.
  • Our specialist technical team provides in-depth product knowledge, helps to develop product performance standards, technical information standards and much much more.
  • We run a number of specialist groups covering various sectors including boilers, fires, combined heat and power, controls, water treatment, low carbon technologies, merchants, installers and service providers. They provide a forum for discussion and action on issues affecting the heating industry.

What else do we do?

  • We also manage Benchmark, the nationally recognised scheme for manufacturers and installers, which encourages best practice in installation, commissioning and servicing of domestic heating systems.
  • We produce the HHIC Journal and this magazine is different. We are representing the heating and hot water industry by using a fresh approach through stimulating features, opinion pieces, news and interviews that will present the industry in a more dynamic light.

How to take part

Membership of the HHIC is open to any company with a direct interest in the UK domestic heating and hot water industry including renewables.
