GASTEC appointed by local government to seek industry opinions

The Sustainable Buildings Division of the Department for Communities and Local Government [SB] has appointed GASTEC at CRE Ltd of Cheltenham to seek industry opinions about Approved Document J (AD J). The contract is entitled "Review of Approved Document J - Backward and Forward Looks". This is a precursor to a full review of Part J which is expected to start later this year which would include a more formal departmental consultation.

Specific questionnaires are being supplied to Fire Officers, Building Control Officers, the Environment Agency, Local Authority Environmental Health Officers, Manufacturers' Trade Associations, House Building organisations, various safety organisations [The Health and Safety Executive, CORGI, RoSPA, etc], the various Chimney Sweeps' organisations, Thatchers, The Fuel Industry Association and other interested parties.
